Australia has been of interest to the director before, with Tarantino making space for characters from the continent in at least one of his films. Remember those Australian slavers, featuring cameo from Tarantino, in Django Unchained? The 1978 Australian thriller Patrick also inspired the director in the making of Kill Bill.
